I am very disappointed. On our way to the NEC we called at the off licence down the road for this week’s copy of the Newsletter - only to be told that there had been printing problems overnight and the Stone edition had not been printed. They hoped to get it later in the day.

So when we got back from Birmingham at tea-time, we stopped at Londis at Walton to discover that they only had the Stafford editions and that the Stone edition had not been printed after all.

This is a bitter blow. The residents of Northesk Street have been campaigning long and hard against the proposed Stonefield Traffic Management scheme culminating in a photoshoot on Wednesday for a big story before the closing date for consulation this weekend. And Liz Pegg had picked up on the razor wire issue and was going to run a story on that also.

I just hope that there’s space next week for these stories to be published.
