It wasn’t a day off - it was research!

Today Jan and I went with Jill and Steve Hood to the Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham - only to be accused of having a day off! Nobody seems to understand that when you’re involved in helping to run a successful Food and Drink Festival there’s an awful lot of research which needs to be done! These things don’t just happen!

So Steve and I carried out several consumer tests in the Drinks hall while the girls went off to see Rick Stein give a demonstration in the theatre. After sitting through a tutored beer tasting by Roger Protz, Steve and I were firmly of the opinion that next year’s Food and Drink Festival must include a Drinks Hall and that we should persuade Roger to come back to Stone again!

On a serious note, we did have a very useful day. We met up with Beth Cohen from Ludlow who has been so very helpful to us and we also made some very useful contacts. It is always useful to attend shows like this to pick up ideas and to see what events and ideas would transfer to our Festival.

It’s hard work - but someone has to do it!
