Disabled access to the tow path complete
The tow path improvement scheme is nearly completed and yesterday I noticed workmen on the other side of the canal as I was parking on Crown Street car park. I popped over and had a chat. They were just finishing a short section of path to join Trent Close and the towpath and they assured me that they would also be lowering the kerb.
This short path is important because it will allow disabled access to the tow path from Trent Close and Crown Meadow. Last year the Town Council installed the bridge into Crown Meadow by the river - so there will now be a through path right to the picnic tables outside the Star!
And today I’ve just been down again to check and the job’s complete - including the dropped kerb!
