I spoke too soon
Oh dear. You may remember me writing that I thought we’d solved the problem of the clash of dates on June 7th - Carnival Parade and Farmers’ Market. I did explain that the proposed route was subject to approval by Highways and the police - but I never expected any objection from either. It seemed to me that the proposal we’d come up with would actually keep the traffic flowing more easily.
Wrong! Sadly the authorities were not in favour of the route down Crown Street and the parade will therefore have to go down the least preferred option - the old route down Christchurch Way. I am very disappointed.
